The phrase "Phantom Bevels" has become synonymous with most distinct axe bevels today, but in the beginning, the name was a trademark named brand design patented by Thomas Bakewell, who happened to be one of the patent attorneys for Charles W. Hubbard and the American Axe and Tool Company.
